The spatially arranged textile panels form a multilayered collage of organic structures, whose semi-transparent surfaces overlap and guide the gaze through the space. Through the burnt-out areas, light from a projector penetrates the material and casts moving images of waves onto the fabric. Projection, transparency, and material merge into a shifting pictorial surface whose appearance continuously changes depending on the viewer’s position. The burnt-in patterns reference stylised forms of nature. They are based on photographic images of leaves, tree bark, and water surfaces, which have been condensed into an ornamental visual language. Using the devoré process, these motifs are transferred onto white textiles, selectively burning away the organic fibres. What remains is a transparent, synthetic structure that allows projected light to pass through while simultaneously reducing the materiality of the fabric. This creates a tension between organic origin and artificial transformation, in which nature is not depicted but appears as a fragile, digitally overlaid memory.
